I currently provide six-week courses, a monthly Italian Book Club and Saturday workshops in Penzance, west Cornwall.

Regular Classes in Cornwall

Classes take place in a relaxed environment in Penzance, outdoors whenever the weather is good enough, and fun is an important part of your sessions. I appreciate that you are investing time and money to learn Italian and you want it to be an enjoyable experience. So do I! Tuition is in Italian, but you can always ask for an explanation in English if you get stuck!

The focus is on the spoken language and helping you to make the most of your visits to Italy. There's lots of listening and speaking, some reading, because it expands your vocabulary and you have to be able to read a little bit when you're in Italy anyway. Generally, there is less emphasis on writing in Italian and it's usually reserved for activities at home rather than in class.

Italian Book Club meets once a month, to discuss (in Italian, of course!) an Italian short story or part of a novel. In 2012, there will be groups in Penzance and Truro.

The title says it all. You’ll be a complete beginner and this workshop will give you enough language to get by on your holiday. We’ll cover ordering food and drink, shopping, finding your way around, travelling by car/bus/train and what to do if things go wrong. A must to help you get more out of your holiday!
